An Hotel in Winter (A Brave old Man)Part 2

When I wasn’t watching the  television I spent most of  my
time writing, although the atmosphere was hardly the sort to
inspire a budding Longfellow. The old man made me weary at times.
He fell asleep every couple of hours or so and he didn’t just snore
he bellowed. I could have gone to my room but it was so cold in there,
and the lounge was the only place with a fire so the lounge it had to be,
the lounge and the old man.
It was on the fourth night, the night prior to my departure when we  were
forced to indulge in our first lengthy  conversation,  the tube expired
on the television. We both watched it until the last minute dot had
disappeared and then complete silence.
